I got one of these LED Projection Alarm Clocks for my 9-year-old daughter for Valentine’s Day! I decided that she is old enough that she doesn’t need to rely on me getting her out of bed, plus now she won’t be making trips to the kitchen at crazy hours in the morning to see the what time it is on the microwave! These have a lot of great features, like lighting up, playing soothing music for the alarm (or on demand), showing the date, projecting a “starry night” onto the ceiling, and more! The only con I could find is that this runs on batteries rather than an AC adapter, but there have been so many great battery deals out there lately that I am not too worried about it.
Since my 7-year-old son already has something that projects stars onto his bedroom ceiling, I thought it might be cool to get one that projects the time onto the wall. There are a lot of really cheap ones out there, but they all had negative reviews. I finally decided that the Oregon Scientific Projection Alarm Clock was the best deal at $21.00 (currently a few dollars less than when I ordered mine!) with free shipping. They also come in silver and black for $26.80. I ended up going with the blue because, not only was it a little cheaper, but I thought he would enjoy that you can see through it!
